Asheboro Latinx Services provides basic health services, legal and social counseling, and advocacy for equal rights and services for the North Carolina Latinx community.
The Mobilize Power Fund (October 2022) supported a partnership between Asheboro Latinx Services & Community Estr(El/La) for the North Carolina/Georgia Navigation Trans Project, which supported young trans women recently released from ICE detention with relocation and material needs. Communidad Estr(El/La) is a project founded by Li Ann Sanchez, known within the community as Estrella, who works with transgender immigrant Latina women who do sex work in Atlanta, Georgia and neighboring communities, most of whom are undocumented.
