The Girls Justice League (GJL) is a girls' rights organization dedicated to taking action for social, political, educational, and economic justice with and for girls and young women. The League is a collective of young women and their allies working to build and reinforce a culture where girls are fully empowered and where gender, race and other disparities are identified and confronted in the systems which affect their futures.
The Own Our Power Fund (2017-2019) provided a two-year grant to support research methodology training for GJL's youth members and quantitative and qualitative research on education and economic security. GJL created an online survey and facilitated focus groups to collect data on the socioeconomic status, educational opportunity, and well-being of Philadelphia's girls and young women ages 12-24 that will serve as a catalyst for future education and campaigns.
